Apple/Pear Crumble
Ingredients
- Prepared Fruit (See Below)
- 1/3 cup Quick-cooking Oats
- 1/3 cup Walnuts finely chopped or ground
- 1/3 cup Wheat Germ
- 2 tablespoons Natural Granulated Sugar
- 1 pinch Cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons Safflower Oil
- Prepared Fruit Mixture
- 4-5 cups apples or pears, or a combination peeled and thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup Pure Maple Syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1 pinch Nutmeg
Instructions
- 1) Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Lightly oil a 9x9 inch baking pan or 9 inch pie pan. Prepare the fruit and set aside.
- 2) Combine the oats, walnuts, wheat germ, sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Drizzle in the oil and stir until the dry ingredients are evenly moistened.
- 3) Pour the prepared fruit into the prepared pan and pat in evenly. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the fruit.
- 4) Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden and turning crisp. Allow to cool until just warm, then serve on its own or topped with a dollop of ice cream or frozen yogurt, if desired.
