Apple Crunch

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups Whole wheat flour sifted
  • 1 cup Rolled oats
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 6-8 Apples peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1/4 cup Raw sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Place flour, oats, sugar and baking soda in a large bowl. With two knives or a pastry blender, work the butter into the dry ingredients until pieces are uniform and quite small.
  3. Mix apples, sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice and place in bottom of a 9” square pan (9x12“ is fine).
  4. Cover with oats mixture. Bake 50 minutes or until done. Serve warm with vanilla bean ice cream!
