Apple Crumble
Ingredients
- 100 g Unsalted Butter
- 100 g Plain Flour
- 50 g Whole-Meal Flour
- 50 g Porridge Oats (more)
- 200 g Brown Sugar
- 3-4 Apples sliced
- 3-4 Pears sliced
- 50 g Caster Sugar
- Vanilla Extract
Instructions
- 1. Preheat oven to 180 C.
- 2. Cook sliced fruit over fire in a saucepan with a splash of water, sugar, splash of vanilla extract, over medium heat until softened - about 5 minutes.
- 3. Mix flour and oats in mixing bowl. Chop in butter. Use fingers to crumble together until it resembles breadcrumbs.
- 4. Add brown sugar and mix well with a fork.
- 5. Place cooked fruit in baking dish, scatter crumble mixture on top. Press down lightly, but don’t over compact it.
- 6. Bake for 45 minutes.
