Apple Crumble Recipe
Ingredients
- 4 green apples, peeled, quartered and cored
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- Crumble:
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/4 cup plain flour
- 1/2 cup desiccated coconut
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 50g butter
Instructions
- Preheat a moderate oven.
- Peel and core apple and chop into wedges. Place apples, sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to the boil. Cover and simmer for 10-12 minutes or until soft. Remove from heat, mash with potato masher and pour into a 20 X 30cm oven dish.
- Melt butter in a small saucepan. Add rolled oats, coconut, flour, sugar and cinnamon; stir to combine. Lay over apples and press down with a spoon.
- Bake in a moderate oven for 20 minutes or until browned.
- Serve with cream or ice cream.
