Apple Crumble

Ingredients

  • 5 apples, unpeeled and cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen raspberries blueberries, or cranberries
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sliced or slivered almonds
  • 1/2 cup butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300F (feel free to use bottom rack while something else is cooking on middle rack)
  2. Combine apples, berries, sugar and cinnamon in 9 or 10 inch baking dish, toss with fingers to coat.
  3. Combine almonds, butter, flour, and brown sugar in food processor and pulse until well combined and crumbly.
  4. Sprinkle it over the fruit, squeezing as you go to create clumps.
  5. Bake for 1hr until fruit is tender and bubbly around the edges.
  6. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
