Apple and Coconut Crumble
Ingredients
- 6 apples (peeled and thickly sliced)
- 1 cup Water
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 4 cloves
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup self-raising flour
- 100 grams butter chopped
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup dessicated coconut
- 1 cup almonds chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180C.
- Combine apples (peeled and thickly sliced), water, sugar and 4 cloves in a saucepan over low heat. Cook until apples are tender. Discard cloves, add 1 tsp vanilla extract and spoon mixture into a shallow, lightly greased ovenproof dish. Place self-raising flour in a bowl, then rub in chopped butter until well combined. Add brown sugar, desiccated coconut and chopped almonds and mix well. Spoon crumble mixture over apples and bake for about 25-30 minutes or until crumble is golden.
- Serve with vanilla ice-cream.
