Apple Crumble Recipe
Ingredients
- 4 x apples
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tbsp sugar (white or brown)
- 1/2 cup plain flour
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon or mixed spice
- 4 tbsp coconut
- 4 tbsp rolled oats
- 2 tbsp sugar (white or brown)
Instructions
- peel, core and slice apples into a saucepan.
- add water and 2 tablespoons of sugar.
- Cook gently with lid until tender.
- place into a greased pie or cake tin.
- In a bowl rub together butter and flour with fingertips.
- Add sugar.
- Add cinnamon or/and spice, coconut and rolled oats.
- sprinkle topping over cooked apples.
- Bake in moderate (200 degrees) oven for 30 minutes, or until browned.
- Serve hot with either, ice-cream, cream, custard or caramel.
- If you want to try something different, instead of adding apples you can choose to make it with apricots, peaches or rhubarb.
